The Nautilus Shell is a classic example of the beautiful spiral seen in nature, which conforms to the Fibonacci Mathematical Series. Other examples include the ram's horn, flower and leaf patterns, the curl of waves and even some Galaxies. The proportion defined by this series was well known by the Greeks and called the Golden Mean. The Fibonacci spiral is nature's way of building quantity without sacrificing quality. A well-proportioned human face and body adheres to the Fiobacci formula. The Golden Mean is fundamental to architecture and is commonly used in art. It defines the proportions of the Parthenon, playing cards, credit cards and most Christian crucifixes.
